Rodavia is close to the site of the Roman Camp and within
easy walking distance of Felbrigg Hall – owned by The
National Trust – which stands in its own 1750-acre estate.
There is a popular inn nearby which takes its name from the
Roman site.
One of the finest 17th century houses in the country, Felbrigg
Hall has its original 18th century furniture and paintings.
Facilities include woodland and lakeside walks.
A National Trust attraction in the region is at Sutton Hoo
near Woodbridge, Suffolk. One of Britain’s most important
archaeological finds was made at Sutton Hoo revealing evidence
of Anglo Saxon pagan kings, ships, burials, treasure and warriors. |

There are numerous places of interest in the area including
Sheringham Park, Sandringham House, The Queen’s country
retreat, and the classic 18th century Holkham Hall, home to
seven generations of the Earls of Leicester. Amongst the attractions at Cromer are the summer pier show, which provides a high standard of entertainment, and the zoo.
At Sheringham there is a standard gauge steam railway which
runs through scenic countryside and the famous Norfolk Broads
are not far away.
There are popular beaches at Cromer, The Runtons and Wells,
a bird sanctuary at Cley and a waterfowl park and gardens at
Pensthorpe near Fakenham. These are just some of the area’s
places of interest which will appeal to all ages. |
